Story
A Lifetime of Care, Rooted in Culture and Compassion
At Evergreen Oasis, care is not just a service—it’s a calling deeply woven into who I am.
Born to Gambian parents, I was raised with a deep sense of duty to honor and care for our elders. In Gambian culture, our elders are the heart of our communities—the storytellers, the wisdom-keepers, the foundation we all stand on.
From a young age, I watched my parents care for aging relatives not out of obligation, but out of love, respect, and deep cultural pride. That spirit of intergenerational care shaped my entire life.
My journey in professional caregiving began with a commitment to serve. I earned degrees from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and the University of Washington, where I focused on public health and social work—always with one goal in mind: to uplift vulnerable populations with dignity and compassion.
My work has taken me across continents, from volunteering in underserved villages in The Gambia and Ghana to walking alongside families right here in Washington State. As a DSHS case manager, I helped individuals maintain independence and dignity through thoughtful supports and community-centered services. I’ve seen firsthand how important it is for seniors to feel seen, valued, and safe.
That’s why Evergreen Oasis Adult Family Home exists.
We are a boutique care home in the heart of Lynnwood, built not just on credentials and experience—but on love, tradition, and a deep respect for those who came before us. At Evergreen Oasis, your loved one is never just a resident—they are part of our extended family.
